Brass and bronze are blends of copper, along with tin or zinc. These materials have been used in jewelry and art for hundreds of years due to its affordability, durability, and resemblance to gold.Over time, brass naturally will oxidize and form a protective layer. Don't worry! This is normal, and many people prefer the look of aged or tarnished metal. If you would like to maintain the ‘sparkle’ of your brass jewelry, polish with the provided cloth. With use, this cloth will turn black  - don't throw it away or wash it.

Everyone has different body chemistry, and skin may react to metals due to natural pH, lotions and perfumes, etc. Commonly, people report a faint discoloring of the skin after wearing brass. This is simply a response to the copper present, and can be removed with soap and water. To avoid this, apply a thin coat of clear nail polish on the brass where it has contact with your skin.

To maintain your brass, remove items while sleeping, and keep your jewelry away from moisture and chemicals while wearing and storing.  It is recommended to polish your jewelry with the provided 'Sunshine polishing Cloth' to restore the polish, and follow with cleaning in warm soap and water, and wipe completely dry.

Solid gold jewelry is desirable due to its value, longevity, ease of maintenance, hypoallergenic properties, and of course - beauty. 

Anything less than 24K pure gold is a blend, or alloy, of metals. 14K = 14 parts of gold, to 10 parts of other metals. Most jewelry designated as "gold" is some combination of an alloy, as pure 24K gold is much too soft for this purpose.

To maintain your gold, avoid harsh chemicals or activities that may damage or scratch your jewelry. Clean with warm soap and water or specialized cleaning solution, and wipe dry.
